Four days dedicated to business meetings, to dialogue on current topics, such as sustainable technologies, commercial traffic, transport, sharing and co-living, innovation and high-tech, but also to the visit of prestigious historical sites, including the Pyramids, the Suez Canal and Cairo 2 – Smart City “.

“Particularly attracted by the significant growth that has invested Egypt – states Fiorella Peraro, President of Il Quadrato Srl of Padua, design studio -, we joined last January, on the recommendation of the Egyptian Consul of Milan, to the proposal of the Egyptian company Sydra Engineering to participate in partnership in the realization of a project for the planning of an Industrial District mainly based on the textile-clothing industry and the development of a City of Sport with the standards of an Olympic village.

The plan, in a preliminary phase and presented to the Suez Canal Authority on 6 June 2006, is based on 3 pillars: environmental sustainability, work and training, safety. The design area of ​​the Textile District occupies 330 ha, while the area for the Sports City 285 ha, both located in the Qantara area on the edge of the Suez Canal. The Textile District, which will be able to host 400/450 industries with skilled labor, will host a logistics area, an accommodation facility, an industrial and artisan areas, a training school, a business district, a fair-outlet district, a university campus, an experimental incubator for research and start-up and a residential area. The Sports City, which can accommodate up to 80/100 thousand people, will host playgrounds, stadiums and gyms, accommodation and commercial facilities, and a center for sports medicine and rehabilitation. “

On the occasion of the celebration of the 40th FIABCI Italia, held on November 21st at the Campari Headquarter, guest of honor was the Egyptian Commercial Consul of Milan, Ahmed Maghawry Diab, who declared Italy the best trade partner for Egypt among the European countries with a volume of investments of over 4 billion euros and over 1,000 companies that have invested in the various sectors, from finance to agriculture, from tourism to real estate, to the industrial.

Introducing the incredible projects under development in Egypt and inviting to take part in the FIABCI Trade Mission, the Consul also illustrated the countless and current opportunities for investment and cooperation between the two states, especially in the real estate and construction fields. Egypt is currently affected by industrial developments of over 60,000 million square meters, from the construction of a new administrative and financial capital – Cairo 2 on over 700 sq. km that will house 5 million inhabitants, 40,000 hotel rooms, 1.8 million square meters of shopping centers, 1.1 million housing units and more than a thousand religious structures, and from the transformation into an economic hub of the Suez Canal with the creation of research centers, industrial centers and logistics areas, a channel already protagonist of the doubling of some of its features in the 2015 – current surface 460 sq. Km –, and has always been fundamental for the Egyptian economy, as well as for the competitive development of businesses.
