UN-Habitat and FIABCI – International Real Estate Federation, representative at world level in the real estate sector private, invite to the launch of the “City Prosperity Initiative (CPI)”, which will take place on Wednesday March 15th PV in the Class Room (Floor -1) of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, at MIPIM 2017, the most prestigiousworld real estate fair programmed from 14 to 17 March. The event, the “Global Launch of the City Prosperity Initiative (CPI)”, intends to present the worldwide initiative of UN-Habitat, in collaboration with FIABCI, intended to measure the prosperity and sustainability of the city. The nations of the world last October in Quito to Habitat III have confirmed UN-Habitatfocal point” of the entire system of United Nations  to achieve in the next twenty years the objectives indicated by the New Urban Agenda (NUA), approved by Habitat III in Quito, and by Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), agreed by the General Assembly of the United Nations in September 2015. FIABCI has decided to support local authorities and governmental organizations in achieving these results.

The collaboration between UN-Habitat and FIABCI tip, after Habitat III, to a specific and concrete purpose , and provide local authorities an efficient, globally shared instrument,  to evaluate the progress of the city in achieving these objectives, with the promotion of innovative approaches through a “City Prosperity Initiative” that adds a quantitative assessment, a qualitative evaluation and the investee.  Christine Auclair – Head of UN Habitat & Private Sector Unit Focal Point ed Eduardo Lopez Moreno – Head of UNHabitat Research & City Prosperity Iniziative.  Ajderhanyan Kirkor – World President FIABCI, together with others, will deepen the possible contribution of the private sector to sustainable urban development, illustrating how an innovative method based on software FIABCI online (citysvil.mesys.it), can, with the appropriate modifications, alongside a quantitative analysis, a qualitative analysis and the investee of urban growth sustainable, capable of contributing to assess and measure the sustainability of the city in a more complete manner. This tool takes on a particular meaning in the face of the prediction of the increase in the next twenty years of the population urbanized from about 50% to 70% and the approximate doubling of the population for the 2050.

UN-Habitat and International FIABCI invite with the attached letter the 23,000 participants at MIPIM and in particular the cities all over the world who at MIPIM promote their territory to consider the use of this tool. FIABCI Italia, for its part, calls the italian cities to evaluate this opportunity and contact Ms Adishree Panda (intern727@unhabitat.org) within the 12 March, in order to secure an introductory meeting preliminary and during the MIPIM (FIABCI Pavillon – P4.B1) with officers from UN-HABITAT, responsible of the “City Prosperity Initiative” (CPI), for information and clarification. The CPI is intended to provide local authorities, in addition to the assessment of urban sustainability according to criteria shared globally, a technical support in the identification of strategies for action and innovative solutions for the planning and urban management, encouraging greater collaboration between governmental institutions, the private sector and civil society, desirable to reduce economic and social hardship and  of many millions of people.
